SAVE THE DATE - 26th September 2026
Please make sure you put in your diaries the above date to help us celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the 'new' village hall for Bishop Sutton and Stowey! We want everyone who has contributed to the management and running of the hall as a trustee/committee member, etc. over the years to be our guests of honour and to SAVE THE DATE of Saturday 26th September 2026 when we intend to stage a high/cream tea during the afternoon from 2-6PM. Successful Defribulator Training
Twenty two members of the local community are now more knowledgable how to administer first aid to save a life thanks to the training provided by Tim last night from a voluteer group SWASTFT Ambulance Charity provided their knowledge and skills free of charge to the villagers. This was a really well receved session giving those present confidence on how to administer cardiac compression and the access and use of the defribulator at the village hall and those around the villa

Another great fun filled evening at the village hall with an exceptional polished professional productionby Valley Arts with Sherlock Holmes – Peter Clifford and Dr. Watson – The Great Baldini! Its great to have live theatre brought to the countryside which is suitable for young and old and enjoyed by families!

We have just receved our first grant of £500 from the generous Co-op members of the public who nominated us as their charity! Thank you all. What a great beer festival!
For those of you who went along on Friday or Saturday, you will know what a great expereince was created by Lloyd, Sophie and their helpers to stage a fantastic event for the village and surrounding area. Very well done on your efforts; lets hope you have raised lots of money for charity. Thank you!

Moulin Bouge - A riotous fun show!
Wow! What a wonderful, fun-filled evening we had at the Valley Arts 'Moulin Bouge' show last night! It was everything the publicity described; comedy, circus, song but so much more with the talented Enchanté Productions! It was stupidly funny from start to finish with non-stop laughter at the ludicrous antics of the potato/spud theme. Very cleverly written and executed. Wonderful talented people with singing, acrobatics, knife throwing and a musical dog that played horns

Cause for Concern
As chairman of the management committee of the village hall, I need to highlight that the existing volunteer trustees and committee members has reduced during the past year meaning the load carried out by fewer individuals is greater than before. The constitution of Bishop Sutton and Stowey Village Hall states there must be a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer; currently the chairman is holding all three positions plus the role of being responsible for maintenance and website/so

You can now view the demolition of the old village hall and the contruction of the new one in our 'about' page. We have also added videos of the last bash with the band Country Pie in May 1995 and with them playing again for the first event of the new village hall in September 1996.
