About Our Hall
Welcome to Bishop Sutton Village Hall, the heart of community life in the Chew Valley. Our hall has long been a flexible and welcoming space for people to meet, celebrate, learn, and connect
At the Heart of Village Life
Bishop Sutton Village Hall has been a central part of local life for generations. Whether it's a family celebration, a regular fitness class, or a community performance, the hall provides a warm and welcoming space for people of all ages. We are proud to support a wide variety of groups and activities that bring the community together, week in and week out.

Flexible Spaces for Every Occasion
Our hall and training room are designed to be adaptable, making them suitable for everything from small meetings to large-scale events. With kitchen facilities, stage lighting, audio equipment, and parking on-site, it’s an ideal venue for private hire, public functions, and everything in between. We’re always happy to work with individuals, groups, and organisations to help make their event a success.
The History Of Our Hall
The original Bishop Sutton & Stowey Village Hall was officially opened on 22 November 1922 thanks to the dedication of local residents Miss Yeatman and Miss Ward, who used £400 raised during their wartime service in Rouen to fund its construction. Built on land from Mr. J. Lovell and constructed by Mr. T. Treasure with help from local volunteers, the hall quickly became a centre for village life.

Replacing the old hall, our new building opened its doors in September 1996. From that moment, it has served as the centre of village life — a place where people come together for events, activities, and celebrations of every kind.
