We're Proud to be Race HQ for the Chew Valley 10K 2024

Come along to Bishop Sutton Village Hall to support the runners of the 12th Chew Valley 10k!

It's back!  The 12th Chew Valley 10k will be held on Sunday 9th June 2024 at 9.30am, following a beautiful rural route and featuring a now infamous HILL! This year the event organisers are delighted to announce it is supported by two main sponsors; local businesses, Winford Ford and Brock & Houlford Expert Eyecare.

Race Headquarters is once again at Bishop Sutton Village Hall and the Village Field behind allows for plenty of space to warm up and catch-up with fellow runners.  Refreshments and delicious cakes will also be available, provided by our friends at Bishop Sutton Pre-School and Forest School!

Our main beneficiaries this year are Chew Valley School Society, Bishop Sutton School Society, NICU Support, based in Norton Malreward, which supports Neo-Natal units in Bristol, Bath and the wider area and Black2Nature, based in Compton Martin and dedicated to connecting Visibly Minority Ethnic (VME) young people with nature in and around the Chew Valley through workshops, Chew Camps, day trips and other events.

The race starts at Bishop Sutton Village Hall and heads out on the rural roads towards East Harptree in the shadow of the Mendip Hills. The challenge then comes in the climb to the village of Hinton Blewitt up the now infamous HILL where your energies will be rewarded with wide views over the Chew Valley. The final stretch drops you back into Bishop Sutton where the crowds will cheer you across the finish tape – concluding back at the Village Hall for the prize giving ceremonies.
